Switch back ...

what's with the "new look" updates.

I admit to being a serious online junkie in the past ...  but not so much lately.  Call it procrastination if you wish or delayed consciousness but "whatever" I can barely stand to stare at the screen.  Going insane...

I was reading at farmsuite and  katie's blogspots and realized that I should update the gang on life.  It was intended to happen on 11.11.11 -- but then again, not all wishes come true, right?

So here's the thing... I noticed that things have changed. It appears I was issued a blogstop rather than a blogspot!!   I'm not sure exactly sure where the complaint line begins, but I know it exists

{my son found this image -- thought it was perfect, LOL}.

Ya know me well enough to know that I have plenty to say all right -- believe me, I could go on about the childish things I've observed recently in the "old enough to know better crowd" (I mean really...when they are older than I am, they outta know BETTER, right?).  But not so much, given the silent treatment I've been dealt -- however, I must say it allows for more time to get my work done (oops, did I imply that this was happening at the office ... hmmm, my bad.)
~

I've been unhappy with the facelifts on Gmail, Facebook, Blogger, and even the banks are remodeling their websites.  It hurts my eyes to watch the speed with which the changes, new looks, and upgrades are happening ... and did I mention, the site doesn't work any better after the changes (it's in fact harder to navigate).    I wanna switch back please!

I get enough changes in the morning when I can't decide what to wear to work in the morning.   Which reminds me -- Sweet-T bought me brown boots.  I wouldn't say I'm picky, but it took me three years to find a pair that I liked immediately after putting them on.   =)   It was quite funny, I've never seen a man so happy to buy anything -- he actually caught me before I flipped them over (the price is usually on the bottom, right ladies?)

T:   Hey now, don't EVEN look there... just put them in the cart and take 'em to the counter I'll buy 'em for ya now if you want them  -- you did say you like 'em, right?

J:    Yes, they are perfect.  [turning them over to read the price]   well, maybe, but WOW -- isn't that a bit much?

T:    Not even going there...  it took you three years to find this pair divide the price by 3 if it makes you happy ... but I'm buying a pair you like!

J:     =)  aawww   [... lotsa mushy stuff  ...]  thank you!!

Overheard later that week at a dinner party.   Guys comparing what they bought wives/girlfriends for birthdays.... (which sadly included a hair dryer and tires)  perfectly timed, my Sweet-T announces he bought me brown heeled boots (just because) ...  screeching friend says NO WAY !!! She's been looking for the perfect pair for THREE YEARS!!!

~  Tee hee!!!!

Okay then...  I guess some changes are GOOD!    No switch backs here I'm happy.   REALLY HAPPY!!

Branded by product or rebel for health!

In church today the minister quoted a bumper sticker:
“Jesus would’ve used his turn signal”
Which is what reminded me of Starbucks.

Okay, perhaps that’s a big stretch for you  – but just about anything can remind me of that delightful aroma of coffee brewing and the hope that I can fill my personal Starbucks cup with a delectable 16oz,  two Splenda iced latte …
Mmm!

Uhh, are you following me?

Now I’m feeling guilty that you might not be able to track how I got from turn signals to Starbucks …

Let me start again… it goes like this:

I like lattes! During the week, I frequent a particular Starbucks; due to my full time job I have only 15 minutes for a break and must travel quickly to my destination a few blocks down the road.
About the third time I was there – standing in line – one of our county Sheriffs noticed me; he approached me by asking what I do for my employer; he addressed the agency by name, which he recognized the department from my security lanyard -- which explains why he was rather direct (a bit of a relief after all, as I was feeling somewhat uneasy that he was staring so intently at my … ummm  navel).
Any who – we’ve since said hello a number of times while getting coffee;  even sat to visit once while awaiting my latte with a co-worker.  Sheriff *Starr drives an unmarked vehicle – I know this because I saw him pull a guy over on my way to work one day (* not his real name, but given where we met, it’s apropos).
He’s apparently noticed what I drive too; I proved this last week.  As I was leaving work (with my window down enjoying the sun), I made a left turn headed toward home, while listening to my radio and beginning to make a call to my dad (using my headset of course).
It was at that very moment a familiar car pulled up next to me.  What a surprise –it was Sheriff Starr – he called out to me through his passenger window “HELLO!!”  followed by  “you know, last I recall, turn signals are still required at that intersection!”
OOPS!!!   =0)
“ Ohh, of course!   Hi ~ it’s so nice to see you … I’ll remember that!”   I called back, practicing the use of my right turn signal I waved…  “Thanks Officer - see you at Starbucks soon!”

Perhaps you're tracking with me now?

After church today, while I was still thinking about the “Jesus would…” bumper sticker and howquickly my mind jumped to Starbucks; I giggled at how my boys are branded as well.
It started on a  a Saturday morning.
I was preparing for a workout.  I had yet to put on my tennis shoes, when Jeffrey said:   “Mom, you are NOT going to wear those Adidas over your Nike socks, are you?”
By the sound of his question you would have thought the world was ending or I was violating the some athletic code of honor -- the very idea that I would mix my brands.
However, by the time I had both shoes on (yes, over my Nike sport socks) and had asked a few probing questions, I received a very thorough discourse on Nike's use of high-quality polyester fabrics explainly quite clearly and exactly why Nike products (not just shoes) are better than Adidas.
"Hmmm, interesting."
I managed to sound very grateful for the lesson as I departed for the gym wearing my very competitive athletic fashion faux pas footwear – sheesh.   I figure I will get a great workout keeping the two brands in check.
It's all about the health benefits after all!
Inasmuch as I should be drinking water instead of coffee right now, I am a rebel for flavor as I sip my iced latte – which I made at home with non-Starbucks coffee beans, and am happily content to drink it from my Starbucks personalized cup!!
AAAAuuggghhh say its not so!!!

tee hee ~ I feel like such a rebel!!

Shoes glorious shoes...

This is me cheering myself up by              um ...          blogging about shoes.

Hey, it's better than retail therapy (which I'm willing to try if blogging this doesn't work).

The other day I wore Navy shoes.  Not just any Navy, but the life-saving throw me something quick before I  . . .

 - drown in the pool of hostile voices from clients who all want immediate response, instant results, and answers to their life's problems -

  kind of Navy shoes.

Oh my word!!!

This was at the crux of my overworked, undertrained, not-even-my-job, work day.  There I sat (with not one solution to any of the above life problems for clients), attempting to calm down the fifth or six-teenth (whose counting) demanding client, securing messages with use of interpreters (who were being verbally accosted along with me) and finally wrapping it up by hearing a client say: "I don't need YOUR attitude, Lady".                                                  (Of course not, yours is horrible enough for both of us!)

Mentally I am begging for immediate life support; an immersion rescue effort of any type from the evil thoughts and words I was forming as a comeback to her comment about "little-ole-me" with a what? oh yeah... "ATTITUDE, LAY-DEE" (it's best to get the full effect of her distain).

It was then that I ever so politely offered to assist her the best I could, pushed the HOLD button immediately... and took a DEEP breath!

Upon receiving oxygen need-help-now I'm thinking,  hmm:  "what do I like most about this moment (a tangible thing is necessary, not just knowledge or feeling)?"

A life-saving glance to my feet brings the best answer:  Check it out, I am wearing great shoes... these are incredibly beautiful shoes and I feel happy to own them.

These Navy patent leather, peek-a-boo toe, (make me feel tall, my legs appear longer, and most assuredly, assists with the confidence that I have a vast number of answers to offer this particular client, just not the ones she wants right now) - such amazing shoes.

Hey, did you know that shoes have names?

These are  "rsvp Justine".   Kind of makes me feel like I have a date with destiny or someone to "rsvp" to ... who the heck is Justine anyway?  Well, it's a "j" name, I'll go with that for my alter-ego (with a different kind of attitude) for now.

Shoes make me sing!!   No, really.  I LOVE shoes!   That discussion of not needing so many different black shoes, falls on deaf ears with me... they each are necessary in their own right.

My boys crack up when I sing about shoes it's a cute little tune (get this... remember the movie Ice Age II ... the scene: vultures lurking, then they sing a song : "FOOD glorious FOOD...").   Okay now you get why my boys laugh at my quirky song about shoes.   What-ever, it works for me.

I am most happy wearing, buying, or simply modeling any number of shoes (heels required... uh Nike's ain't gona bring on a song for this chick.)

Hmmm.    Oh yeah... back to the office:

As I released the HOLD button finalizing the forwarding of her call to someone else (perhaps with less attitude, but I doubt it) I thought of another thing that made me happy.

It's an old saying, "You can't understand someone's experiences until you walk a mile in her shoes."

FRANKLY, my dear, I'm not willing to trade.

I'm truly grateful to not be walking in her shoes.  I willingly choose MY shoes every day. Inasmuch as I would feel totally justified in judging her attitude against mine I find myself taking the high road.

Don't even think about touching my shoes !!!
